　　表達難點

　　1.第2句“它位于浙江省省會杭州，水域面積約6平方公里”是并列結構，如果翻譯時也采用并列結構，則句子結構稍顯松散，故將前一分句處理成非謂語形式，用過去分詞短語located in Hangzhou…作地點狀語，后半句譯為句子的謂語成分。

　　2.第3句的時間狀語“幾個世紀以來”用介詞短語for centuries來表達即可，“幾個”several可不譯。

　　3.第4句分句較多，前兩句意思緊密，可合譯成一個獨立的句子。后半句的“春夏秋冬”不必一一道出，只需譯為in different seasons或in four seasons.“將……融合在一起”可處理成“春夏秋冬各有特色”的伴隨動作，用現在分詞短語combining…來表達。

　　4.最后一句中前后兩分句主語不同，翻譯時，可以“西湖”為主語，表達為the West Lake attracts…，再用 which引導的非限制性定語從句來補充說明杭州，引出后—分句的內容。這樣一來，整個句子結構清晰，語義聯系更緊密。
