　　泰山稱東岳，以“五岳獨(dú)尊”的盛名享譽(yù)古今。按照“五行學(xué)說”，東方屬木，主生發(fā)，有生命之源、萬物之本的含義。這就是古代帝王通常在自己登基或晚年時到泰山封禪祭拜的原因。泰山拔地通天，氣勢磅礴，漢語又有“穩(wěn)如泰山”、“重于泰山”之說。1987年，聯(lián)合國教科文組織將泰山列為世界自然與文化遺產(chǎn)。

　　Mount Tai, called “East Yue”, has a great reputation for the most important mountain of the Five Holy Mountains. According to the theory of five elements, the East belongs to mu, which means liveliness. Therefore, the East is a place where nature regulated and adjusted its procedures. This explains why important emperors made pilgrimages mostly to Mount Tai when they were crowned or in their later years. It is a symbol of loftiness and might, hence, there are the Chinese idioms: “as firm as Mount Tai” and “as weighty as Mount Tai”. Mount Tai was proclaimed world natural and cultural heritage by UNESCO in 1987.

　　選秀(draft),指選拔在某方面表現(xiàn)優(yōu)秀的人。中國自古就有，古代選秀一般是宮廷選秀。從2004年《超級女聲》開始，大眾選秀節(jié)目開始進(jìn)入我們的視線，這類幾乎“零門檻(zero of threshold)”的選秀活動讓所有人都有機(jī)會成為明星。之后的《好男兒》、《快樂男聲》、《我型我秀》還有《中國好聲音》等等選秀活動一一登場，幾乎一刻都沒有讓中國的電視觀眾閑著。通過這些選秀活動，很多有才能的 “平民百姓”實(shí)現(xiàn)了自己的夢想，走上了星光大道(avenue of stars)。

　　An aging society refers to a population structure model in which aging population reaches or exceeds a certain proportion. The region is regarded as entering an aging society according to the UN’s traditional standard that an area’s old people over 60 years old takes up 10% of the total population, while the new standard is old people over 65 years old takes up 7% of the total population. The acceleration of aging will bring enormous pressure to both economy and society. On October 26, 2009 when the Double Ninth Festival, the traditional Chinese festival, came, China formally launched a strategic research on coping with aging of population to deal with increasingly intensifying population aging crisis.
