China lies in the east of Asia. It is a country which is the most densely populated in the world. China is one of the four countries in the world with an ancient civilization. It has a vast territory with such abundant natural resources as dense forests, magnificent waterfalls, majestic and beautiful rivers and lakes, and mountains whose peaks reach high into the skies like swords. Besides, it contains historic remains of glorious Chinese antiquity. All these make China a singularly attractive place to tourists around the world. But, most importantly, China is possessed of a history of over five thousand years with innumerable historical relics left over from the long past, such as priceless pearl sand jewels, historic sites and scenic spots, palaces and ,edifices of architectural richness, all of which have won people's admiration. You are sure to find great enjoyment of all these attractions in China, a much-admired dream land.
3.第三句可先譯出句子主干China is possessed of…,用介詞短語(with引導(dǎo))修飾a history of over five thousand years,繼而用such as列舉innumerable historical relies的具體內(nèi)容,再以定語從句作結(jié),結(jié)構(gòu)上顯得有起伏。
Nowadays, the development of national economy maintains a good momentum. The economic growth has kept the balance between speed, quality and economic benefit. But it is also clear to us that there are no countries in the world that can perpetuate an economic boom and high-speed growth. China won't be an exception. The achievements of the reform have been there for all to see. However, as the economic environment changes, there occured new problems. These include the reform of the state-owned enterprises, substantial unemployment rate, risks in the financial sector and ecological and environmental damage. All of them require our immediate attention and effective solutions in the shortest time possible.
的平衡”可以用短語“keep the balance between…”
2.第二句由幾個小短句組成,第二個短句中的“長盛不衰”和“保持高速度”都是對“經(jīng)濟(jì)發(fā)展”的修飾限定,因此該句可以用定語從句來翻譯,可譯為“there are no countries in the world that can perpetuate an economic boom and high-speed growth.”
文中第三句指出,中國經(jīng)濟(jì)的發(fā)展也出現(xiàn)了一些新的矛盾和問題,第四句是對這些問題的具體列舉,因此,完整的句子應(yīng)該是“這些問題包括國企改革問題、大量失業(yè)問題……”,所以該句應(yīng)該譯為“These include the reform of the state.owned enterprises, substantial unemployment, risks in the financial sector and ecological and environmental damage.”

The Qingming Festival, the traditional tomb-sweeping day, falls on April 4-6 each year. It is a time for remembering loved ones who departed. People visit their ancestors’ graves to sweep away the dirt. A well-known poem by the Tang Dynasty Du Mu tells of a sad scene in early April: “Rains fall heavily as Qingming comes, and passers-by with lowered spirits go.” In contrast to the sadness of the tomb-sweeping, people also enjoy hope of Spring on this day. The Qingming Festival is a time when the sun shines brightly, the trees and grass become green and nature is again lively. Since ancient times, people have followed the custom of Spring outing. At this time tourists are everywhere. Today, the Qingming Festival is a statutory public holiday in mainland China.
