潑水節(the Water-Splashing Festival)是傣族(the Dai minority)最隆重的傳統節日。潑水節一般于公歷四月中旬開始，持續3-7天。在傣族的歷法中，潑水節就是新年。在云南省眾多的少數民族節日中，潑水節影響力最大、參與人數最多。潑水節這一天，傣族人盛裝打扮，帶著清水到佛寺。他們首先為大佛(Buddha)沐浴，接著開始互相潑水，以此帶來好運、快樂和健康。你被潑的水越多，你得到的幸運將越多，你的生活將越幸福。傣族人也邀請其他少數民族和游客共同慶祝潑水節。

　　The Water-Splashing Festival is the mostceremonious traditional festival of the Daiminority. It usually begins in mid-April of the solarcalendar, lasting three to seven days. The Water-Splashing Festival is the New Year on the Daicalendar,and also a festival with the largest influence and maximum participating populationamong lots of minority festivals in Yunnan Province. During this festival,Dai People will getdressed up and carry clean water to the Buddhist temple.They will first take a shower for theBuddha and then begin to splash water with each other for bringing good luck, joy and health.The more water you are splashed, the more luck you will have, and the happier you will be. DaiPeople will also invite people from other ethnic minorities and tourists to celebrate the festivaltogether.

　　諸葛亮是中國古代杰出的政治家，軍事家。作為遁世(recluse)之人,諸葛亮致力于學習知識，其智慧之名廣為流傳。劉備曾三顧茅廬，請求諸葛亮相助。諸葛亮為劉備詳細分析局勢，建議劉備與孫權聯手對抗曹操。劉備采納了他的建議，在赤壁之戰(Battle of the Red Cliff)中挫敗曹操、稱帝后不久，劉備去世。臨終時，劉備代表兒子劉嬋將蜀國江山托付給諸葛亮。諸葛亮對內廣泛推行改革，納賢臣，提高農業生產，加強灌溉工程，強調軍隊紀律，很快就幫蜀國克服重重危機。

　　Zhuge Liang was a brilliant politician andstrategist in ancient China.Being a recluse, ZhugeLiang devoted himself to acquiring knowledge, andhis reputation of wisdom spread widely.Liu Bei oncevisited Zhuge Liang three times to ask for hisassistance.Zhuge Liang analyzed the situation in detail for Liu Bei, and recommended that heand Sun Quan should fight against Cao Cao hand in hand.Liu Bei adopted his suggestion anddefeated Cao Cao in the Battle of the Red Cliff.Not long after being the emperor of Shu, Liu Beipassed away.Before Liu Bei died, he entrusted the state power of Shu to Zhuge Liang on behalfof his son,Liu Shan.Zhuge Liang carried out widespread domestic reforms, employing peoplewith ability, improving agricultural production and construction of irrigation works, andstressing discipline in the army，which helped Shu overcome a series of crises soon.
