　　2.第3句中的“她任人唯賢”可套用表強調的句型it is... that來表達，譯作It is talents that she...。“完全不考慮其家庭地位”可譯為并列結構and didn't consider their family status at ail，但這樣處理稍顯生硬， 可用作狀語的介詞短語來表達，譯為 without considering their family status 或 regardless of their family status。

　　3.翻譯第4句“通過獎勵……，懲罰……，武則天極大地促進了農業的發展”時，先譯出主干(She greatly improved agriculture)，“促進......的發展”是中文固定表達，英譯時省譯“發展”(development)，直接譯為improved...即可。“通過獎勵……，懲罰……”表方式，故將其處理成方式狀語，用介詞短語by rewarding the officials... and punishing those...來表達。定語“積極發展農業的”較長，可將其處理為定語從句 actively developed agriculture，或用分詞短語 actively developing agriculture 來表達。

　　4.第6句中的“......發展到了頂峰”可用動詞peak來表達，也可譯為get to the peak/highest point等。時間狀語“在她統治期間”表達為during her reign，置于句末。

And the compass greatly helped the European navigators to explore new routes. The Four Great Inventions are symbols of advanced science and technology in ancient China and of great significance in the development of Chinese and the world's civilizations.

　　1.第1句中的定語“對世界有巨大影響的”較長，故將其處理成定語從句，表達為that had great influences on the world。“中國古代”(in ancient China)置于中心詞“四種發明”之后。

　　2.第2句中的“幾”實為“它們是”，譯為they are。

　　3.第5句中的“大大地幫助 了......”可用短語greatly help... to...,也可用短語be of great help to...來表達。“探索新航路”表目的，故將其譯作狀語，用不定式短語to explore new routes來表達。

　　4.最后一句“四大發明是……的象征，在……中都有著……的意義”可用并列結構譯出：the Four Great Inventions are symbols of... and of great significance...。“有著……意義”用短語be of 表達，此處承前 省略are。“古代中國先進科學和技術的”譯為advanced science and technology in ancient China。“在中國和世界文明發展中”表達為 in the development of Chinese and the world's civilizations。
