頤和園(Summer Palace)是中國現存規模最大、保存最完整的皇家園林，是全國首批重點文物保護單位，被列入世界文化遺產名錄。它位于北京市海淀區，占地約三百余公頃，以其優美自然的田園景色(pastoral scenery)成為“壯觀神州第一”的著名游覽勝地。頤和園將人造景觀與大自然和諧地融為一體，它的建成是當時政治、經濟、文化發展水平在皇家園林中的反映，全面反映了中國在現代建筑園林興起以前所取得的建筑園林技術成就。
