Li Qingzhao was a well-known ci poetess in the Song Dynasty of China. The collection of her ci poems is called Shu Yu Lyrics, which took its name from the Shuyu Spring in front of her former residence in Jinan. Li Qingzhao had received good education when she was a child and showed her literary talent in her early years. After Jingkang Incident, she and her husband Zhao Mingclieng came to the south of Jiangsu from Shandong province. The homeless and miserable life was also revealed in her later poems and ci poems. She depicted calamities caused by wars to the women and wrote down quite a large number of patriotic poems and ci poems.

Du Fu,a famous poet of the Tang Dynasty, iscrowned as “Poet-Sage”by later generations. Du Fuwas a patriot. Under the constant influence ofConfucianism, he hated and tended to criticize thecorrupt imperial court and the dark side of thesocial life. In the meantime, he had great compassion for the general public, and was willingto make self-sacrifice to rescue people from their tribulation. Du Fu had a profoundfriendship with Li Bai, another great poet in the Tang Dynasty. Though 'their poetic styles weredifferent, they admired each other for their respective talent and personality. Therefore, theyare jointly named “Li Du” by later generations.

Zhuge Liang was an outstanding politician and strategist in the Three Kingdoms Period in Chinese history. He was a brilliant genius with great strategy and wisdom. He dedicated all his life to the career of fighting for the country until he passed away on the way to crusade against the country Wei. He repaid his emperor with undisputable loyalty all through his life. Besides loyalty, his wisdom, capacity and strategy to administer the country Shu perfectly accorded with the Confucius’s ideal way of being an official in feudal times. So Zhuge Liang became a famous official with joint praise by officials and common people in Chinese history.
