　　第一個解釋來源于總統Andrew Jackson的故事。Andrew Jackson幾乎沒有受到過什么教育，事實上，他對于日常的讀寫都有困難。當收到重要文件的時候，在嘗試閱讀之后，還是讓他的助手幫忙解釋文件的內容。如果批準一份文件，Andrew Jackson就在上面寫“all correct”。麻煩的是，他不知道怎么這2個單詞怎么拼寫，因此，實際上他在文件上寫的是“ol korekt”。過了不久，他又把這2個單詞縮寫為“OK”。

　　第二個解釋來源于總統Martin Van Buren的家鄉的名字——紐約的Kinderhook。為了幫助Van Buren成為總統，他的朋友為此組織了一個社團。他們把這個社團叫做Old Kinderhook Club，社團中支持Van Buren的人都被稱為“OK”
